What is ECO4?
The Energy Company Obligation (ECO4) is a government initiative designed to make homes warmer, more energy-efficient, and cheaper to heat. By funding energy-saving improvements, the scheme helps households reduce energy bills and tackle climate change, while contributing to the UK’s goal of achieving net-zero emissions.

Who is Eligible?
You may qualify for support under ECO4 if you meet one or more of the following criteria:
- You are a homeowner or live in a private rented property.
- Your home must have an EPC rating of E, F or G
- A member of your household is in receipt of certain benefits, including:
- Child Benefit
- Pension Guarantee Credit
- Pension Savings Credit
- Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
- Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA)
- Income Support
- Tax Credits (Child Tax Credit or Working Tax Credit)
- Universal Credit (UC)
Alternatively, you may qualify through Local Authority Flexibility (LA Flex) with your Local Authority.
